hey,
i have all these crazy fabric scraps and i was thinking of putting a picture together on a piece of cardstock or something by glueing the fabric down after cutting them out into different shapes.. does anyone know if fabric art like this has been done before or is common? and if so, does anyone know where i can get info about it?
thanks so much!!!!!

hey. i don't know of any websites or anything on it.

just thought that i would share that i've done something similar, to test it out.  i did a beach scene with nothing but ribbon and some buttons.  it turned put pretty cute; definitely makes me want to go further with it.

hey...I've thought of the same thing too! Smiley When i worked at a fabric store i got all these interesting scraps and was messing around with them. Here's a page from my art journal- i basically stapled it on, it's nothing fancy for sure, but might give you some ideas

i used mod podge for most of it. (underneath and on top)
i had a hard time with the "clouds" because that ribbon was a little funky so i used some stronger glue for it and the buttons.

I've done a work with fabric scraps. I sewed my image with the bits onto larger canvas, added some embroidery, and then stretched it afterwards. It came out like this!
