I want to atttempt a wristband like this (but different image, or course).

What needle size would you suggest to use for this? I want to use straight knitting needles with intarsia and duplicate stitching for the details, then I'll just sew up the seems. It seems a really small size like 1-3 would work best. Is it also a good idea to bind off with a stretchy bind-off, then whipstitch the ends with elastic thread for that look?

Oh, what stitch would work best? I think stockinette would, especially since I'll use duplicate for the details, and doesn't that only work for stockinette stitch?

uhhhhhh. sewing pins? lol Thats clearly machine knit cause I don't think they actually make needles that small. the smallest I know of is 000. those are 1.5 mm thick

Oops, yeah, I know it's machine. Um, well if I tried to hand knit something, what's the best needle to use on a wristband involving intarsia?

Hmmm.... I'm not sure we have that kind of yarn at my craft store. I didn't notice anything smaller than US 8 yarn...
