Dreadlocks from the Jungle

In Febuary, I created these dreads and matching lariat for
(would you believe it)
someone who plans to wear them on her Winter wedding day!
Now that's one bride whose wedding pics I'd love to see  


Also, I felted up this wild creation for someone
but had the hardest time giving it away.
This one is so my style.
When I've got a spare few minutes, I hope to be able to create something like this for myself

omg! I love them! I can't wear dreads anymore though, i had a bad experience with them my first and only time every wearing them. I bought some beautiful double ended dreads. I have very thin hair, and when i took them out after a couple weeks, I was almost bald. my hair came out in handfuls and i had scabs on my head where they were pulling, but they werent tight and they werent uncomfortable so I have no idea what happened? do yo have any idea?... but anywho where do you buy your synth hair or wool if thats what you use) to make them? I can't find that stuff ANYWHERE.

I've a few explanations, but I can't be 100% certain (being on the other end of the internet and all  )
Normally, everyone's scalp sheds hair daily.
When your hair is plaited, or has other objects holding your hair together, the shed hair is kept tied in with the rest of your hair. Depending on how long you leave your hair plaited or with dreadlocks installed, the naturally shedded hair continues to build up. After a month of letting your shed hair build up, it can seem like a lot of hair.
I'm more concerned about the scalp sores you had.
That usually occurs from dreads not being installed tight enough. If they're loosely installed, the weight is unevenly distributed, and the dread might be pulling on only 4 or 5 strands, causing you pain.

However if it is as drastic as you suggest, check with your doctor.
Hair loss can be a symptom of various health issues.

I buy my wool top from a local vendor where I live in Sydney, but there are a number of online places you could also try.

I wonder if it could have been some sort of allergic reaction to the wool. (?)
