I love this bag...I need one.  I don't think I'll get around to making one anytime soon but I sure would love to.  Great job and I love the color.

How much can you fit in this bag?  I have the fabric and everything to make my own but I'm wondering if I'll need to go bigger for what I'll use it for.  Right now I need a bag that will carry two outfits a book and my laptop (I'm making a matching case for it). This is definitely the style bag I want but I might need to make some adjustments to it.

It would fit 2 outfits, a book and a laptop quite easily, it's pretty big, I will try to get a picture of comparison, or when I get my laptop back tomorrow I will get a picture of it inside, plus 2 outfits and a book to show you how they fit.

I tried to get a picture tonight of all that stuff inside the bag but none of them came out any good.  I put a sweater, pair of jeans, another pair of pants, 3 shirts (one longsleeve), my laptop and 2 books and there was PLENTY more room (I could fit at least 3 more outfits in there).

OMGosh, your bag is fantastic!  I absolutely love, love, love this fabric.  Love the piping, too.  This totally looks professional.

I finally finished my son's bag today (well sort of, I just have to sew the bright orange lining in, but I will handsew most of that while watching TV with my husband later and I wanted to go ahead and post this now, haha).
It turned out really cute, it has bright yellow piping with bright green rings (again colored with sharpies).  I also made a matching tote (for toys and books) and zipper pouch.  And I appliqued a little kitty from the fabric onto a tee for my son too.  I have plans to make a drawstring shoe bag as well, and probably another zipper pouch (I have SO much of this fabric leftover).
Ok, well, here it is!  Enjoy!

he was upset because I wouldn't let him brush his teeth (I wanted to get a picture before he soaked the front of the tee with drool from brushing his teeth, he's 18 months and obessed with brushing his teeth, go figure)

This looks so cool, I really want to make one now!!  I love how your piping looks - is that very hard to do around the corners - thats the bit thats worrying me  Undecided
Teehee about the little tooth brusher - at least he WANTS to brush his teeth - my son (9) could go for a month happily without brushing his if I let him....... Lips sealed

these bags both look great...i LOVE both fabrics. and i am really impressed with your piping. piping has always scared me. question though, do you think the sharpie color with scratch off or fade away, or do you think it will hold up? are they the metal kinda, or painted (rings)?just curious! great job!
