I just would like to get some feedback/tips on putting toghether an ATC. How do you avoid rough edges- meaning how to make the piece look very put toghether and professional. Is it okay or typical for the edges to look a bit rough or "undone"? I'm just getting started in making them and would appreciate any feedback.

Well, you probably should have posted in "Discuss Future Projects".

But both of you would probably appreciate a look here:

It's got a good description of what ATCs are, and almost every technique imaginable for making them.  I haven't had a go at making them myself yet, so I can't give you any help beyond that!

When I started making/trading ATCs I found I grew as I traded and made more.  One of the great things about ATCs is you'v got people with all levels of experience trading with eachother. . .

One fun thing is ATC Jams where one person starts and ATC and 3-4 different people work on it and the starter sends each person a copy.

Most people I know use what ever cardstock they can find/afford.  I tend to use cardstock from WalMart & Joanne's but have also seen people use playing cards, a painter used paper and for a recycle themed set another gal used cardboard, then there was that one girl who mentioned poasterboard.  So it is kinda all over as to what people use. . . Wink

Some gals have even made fabric. . .quilted ATCs. . . Cheesy
