I made two bags tonight (yes I'm a night owl its 4:46am lol) but only managed to get pics of this one so far.  But I'm in love lol.  Hubby says I need to get rid of some of them, as I'm avg'ing about 6 a week... I think he doesn't understand that I have a bag obsession.  LOL

and a blurry interior shot

And here is the Tote I did too.  Not the best pictures but I love this little bag as well (8"x10"x3") It has a large exterior pocket and a large interior pocket as well with a magnetic snap to keep it closed up top.

I love this bag.  The fabric is fun and the piping give it a real professional look.

You do nice work!!!!

Hubby's right. You need to get rid of some of them. Give them to us! Grin

But seriously, the piping does rock. Makes them look very professional. Do you buy or make your own?

GORGEOUS!  Oh man, I saw the piping and I was in love - I agree with SewMuch4Kids... it just gives the bag such a professional look.  Both are fantastic!

(p.s. ... do what I do... grab an empty bookcase and start lining up all of your bags/purses/finished products on it and tell DH that you're trying to sell them online or that you're prepping for a craft fair that's coming up in ... erm, a year?  lol)

Piping is the 'lining' of sorts.  it's basicly a thin rope that is covered with fabric.  It's quite fantastic stuff.

I think nice square shape bags are great for beginners, it's really more a matter of working out the math to ensure all the pieces fit together, after that its just a matter of sewing straight seams.  I started my daughter sewing with pillowcases and throw pillows, and she's since moved on to bags to sew, they are great practice for learning to control a machine. Smiley

If I can find time to do a tutorial I'll try to put one together, we're house hunting at the moment so my time is very limited.
