Hi ,

I have a question and a small story.

Im from Costa Rica and I design jewellery i moved to Australia and here well eveyrthing sells wonderful in markets and with the people i've met i pretty much live of it.

Some personal stuff happened and now i have to go back in CR for a pair of earrings shipping would be 20 dollars so is not worth doing online  selling and when i lived there, couldnt find any sorth of markets that sold craft goods.

Something that i sell here in aust for 20 dollars could sell back home per $5 so you have an idea..

What can i do should i just give all this up  Cry ?

why give it up? you're very talented. perhaps the path you're meant for is just taking a detour now. but, why not look for other options? what about selling to locally owned shops and stores?

I've tought of that .. but i dont even know how that works ive never tried it and wouldnt know what kind of store to go if i go to a jewlelery place usually they have jeweller's works with silver and such.

Or how does it works sell pieces already made ? or have some sorth of catalogue and well also pricing..I guess we all start without experience

Thank you oopsdang Smiley

If you are a regular at the markets, couldn't you find somebody who's willing to take your jewellery on commission? Somebody you can trust? Then you could just send the stuff in one parcel and thus save on shipping costs, and the seller'd get a cut? This is just one idea, but maybe you'll come up with a better one. Don't give up before you've thought this through!

hello natiux,

I don't know if what I'm going to say will help you much but here it is: even if you are having a rough time now you shouldn't give up! because crafting it's so great and rewarding and if you can do it and have a talent in make beautiful things you will make it somehow. I am in some kind of a crossroad too wondering what to do but I don't consider giving up yet! I have troubles finding supplyes, selling my stuff because we have no stores specilized in selling crafts and the money you make is not so great either and above all this my family doesn't really support me in what i do... but I like crafting so much and I can't see myself doing something else ...

So, I wish you good luck! I'm sure you will make it  Smiley

You could approach "tourist shops" with your jewelry rather than "proper" (think expensive silver, gold and diamonds) jewelry shops.
