I don't think I've seen that many people post their colorbar blankets on here.

Well, here's mine. It took me about two months of granny square-making and sewing together, but it was worth it. I LOVE MY BLANKET! Cheesy

I used Caron Simply Soft. It's still acrylic, but it feels so much better than Red Heart.

That looks great!  It came out so nice and even, and the colors are great. 

derscroot, I agree with callmeflower9, Caron SS is very nice.  If you're looking for something sturdier, Bernat Super Value is considerably softer than RHSS (though not as cuddly as Caron SS).

your blanket looks great!!!
as for yarn . . . when i did mine i used the wool ease because i found a (relative) deal on it at joann.com, but i second the idea of using simply soft - its super soft for an acrylic (softer than the wool ease even, i think)
