hi there

I just bought some old back issues of knit1 magazine

and I'm already preparing to make this sweater

I'm going to use butterfly cotton and alter it to make it full length

I'm just wondering if anyone has made this pattern before and if they could tell me how the sizing worked out.

I've made things from that magazine in size small that were too big for me and I've made things in size xs that were too small

the measurements on the pattern says

Bust:
xs-32
s- 34

my natural bust size is 35....accounting for the stretchiness of crocheted material and looking at the picture....what do you guys think I should do?

I wish they had it for crochet as well.

There will always be people who say mean words  because you are different, and sometimes their minds cannot be changed. There are many more people who do not judge others based on how they look or where they are from. THOSE are the people whose WORDS truly matter.

First of all, keep in mind that crochet doesn't stretch in the same way knitting does, so it may not stretch as much as you think.

At first I was going to suggest measuring a shirt you have already that fits the same way in the chest, but unless it, too, is crocheted, I'm not sure it will work in this instance.

So my gut is to tell you to go with the 35".  It's easier to take in something that's too big than vice-versa.

what issue is that in?  I'm sure I've seen it before, but it's suddenly very appealing.  I think I must have overlooked it at some point.

If you can get a hold of Lily Chins new book that could be a great help to you adjusting the pattern to fit you.

Does the pattern contain or tell you all the schematics? If so that would help if not make up your own if they give you enough info then measure yourself.

I would also make a large swatch and see what kind of ease the pattern offers that would tell you if you should go with the xs small size or the small size but  there are other things you could do to adjust thing like use a smaller hook in places.
