Lately my 12 year old yorkie has been hiding under my dirty laundry on the floor (yucky). So what to do? Well I made him a new dog bed and inserted some of my old socks! See --->

Tutorial (as promised)
http://www.yattabags.com/tutorials/dogBed/pillow.jpgStep One: You see pillow - I see dog bed: Buy a Standard/Queen sized pillow or just use one you have lying around. I actually only had two pillows so I had to buy another one.
(tip: sleep on it for about a week and get it nice and smelly. Your dog will totally love it and hopefully stay out of the dirty laundry)
http://www.yattabags.com/tutorials/dogBed/fabrics.jpgStep Two:Choose Your Fabrics, wisely! (tip: I choose to use flannel. For Small dogs who tend to get cold this will help warm them up - plus it's nice and soft - it's like puppy luxury to them - they are totally worth it!)

- Short Piece: 25 x 20.5
- Long Piece: 45 x 20.5
(tip: If you have one --use a T Square or large ruler and fabric marker to get the best cut.)
http://www.yattabags.com/tutorials/dogBed/step4.gifStep Four:Fold over and stitch - length side! Fold over one side and add top stitches to each piece - illustrated above.

(tip: I kept mine simple pimple but this is your time to get creative. Add fabric cut outs, cool stitches, embroidery, whatever you want - just no small parts like beads -- make sure it stays washable)

Your wrong sides should be facing up and your long piece should fold over (on top of it's self) and be under the small piece - so small piece on top.
http://www.yattabags.com/tutorials/dogBed/step7.gifStep Seven:Now that everything is pinned and in place - sew around all sides. When it's complete - trim off excess and flip inside out. Don't for get to turn your corners.
(tip: Back stitch a couple times when the two fabrics meet - just because!)

(tip: It's fun (yet gross) to see Jake licking the spot where my sock is -- it lets him know he's loved -- but if you slept on the pillow for about a week you won't need to add the laundry)

Bonus Tip!Have a larger dog? Sew two pillows together or buy a body pillow!
