hi my lovely crafties!  I'm on a hunt for some vintage buttons like the ones seen in the last ready made magazine and the ones they made earrings with at good-together.com...but after scouring a few local antique stores I came up with squat!  I thought they would be easier to find!  Any suggestions..I'm making a small clutch that I want to cover with them and then I plan to make matching jewelry...help! Grin

If you do not mind to waiting for shipping, Ebay would be a good place to find them... I see all sorts of cute ones.....

Finding things localy, for me at least, is a cursed thing. Whenever I don't need something I find it all over the place and when I need something, it just drops off the face of the earth.  Tongue

wowie!!  I found some of the cutest buttons on ebay!  for some reason I shy away from ebay...i guess i'm always afraid to get my heart set on something and then get outbid...but there were so many great sets that if I miss out on one I can always try for another...I have a feeling that I will be knee deep in antique buttons soon Grin

Thanks rox!

I'm not sure exactly what you want, my my family has owned an upolstery business for years, and I have a bunch of those fabric covered buttons in tweed, etc.  They don't have a hole per se, though, they have this string that attached them to the furniture.  you are welcome to them!  if you wanna trade let me know.

It was lovely of you to offer but I'm loking for glass and plastic buttons...mostly ones that have some sort ofraised pattern on the front...you know like flowers and stuff.  Again thanks for the offer though! Kiss

probably obvious- but you can pinch them off vintage clothing that you come across (of course saving the material for furture use!)
