I made this card for my moms anniversary and I thought it turned out well, but my husband says it's kind of gloomy, what do you guys think?

It is a bit gloomy, but some people like that quality.  Do you think your mom would like it?  I think it is beautiful!

The words are romantic but a bit sad. She might associate the phrase with death.

It brought a happy tear to my eye - but that's mostly 'cause I'm hormonal. I'd be happy to get it for my anniversary.

I love it. I don't think it is gloomy at all. I think the problem is that store bought cards are all in bright bold colours these days so we tend to associate cards with that. Yours is a little different and so pretty. I would definitely love to be given a card like that.

Aww thanks guys, I agree that all cards now a days are bright and bold, and I think that's where a little of the gloomy misconception comes in, but just to be safe I made another that was exactly the same with the quote "What a grand thing to love, what an even grander thing to be loved"  I didn't like it as mkuch, but my mom was still happy!
