Lol, yeah, it's a cable.
I have no idea for the lace. What's the difference between geometric and organic?
Geometric=shapes
Organic=flowers and stuff?
[lol, I wanted to make a guess before you told me.]

 I'm looking for lace patterns on the internet, but I think I might just stick with the tube with straps sort of idea. Idk. I have a while to decide, though, I guess. So far, I've finished 1 1/2 inches of K3P3 ribbing and about an inch of K1P1 ribbing, including the start of the cable. It's looking pretty good so far. At the bottom of the K3P3 ribbing is this cool little lace pattern. I don't know if that always happens or if I made a nice mistake, but either way, I like it. I'll take a picture of it soon, but the camera's downstairs and I'm lazy. haha.

ETA; DAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.
I had to frog it. Why? Initially, because I forgot to make sure that the stitches weren't twisted before I joined it in the round.
Then, I took it off. I held it up to me, and I looked like Jared. Seriously. My math was THAT off.

Okayy here are the pics! I'm generally not a big fan of how variegated yarns knit up (they always look so pretty on the skein and disappointing when you knit it) - I'm still deciding whether the variegated-ness and the lace pattern sort of goes. I'm okay with it for now..

and a close up..

I'm using yarn that was a gift - It's 100% cotton from Italy. I only have 2 100g skeins, I've already used one and the WIP is 9.5" - I'm living on the edge  Roll Eyes

I want to knit a Lelah next, after seeing all the recent finished ones.. What I'm doing knitting tanktops in the middle of winter (australia), I've no idea. At least I'll be prepared for spring  Cheesy

this one's just a ribbed tube, and you can knit a swatch and conform it to your needs.

right now I'm working on a self designed empire waist-ish tube top and mud flap girl tank top from SnB, only with stripes on the chest instead of that scary intarsia.

Neekie, I actually like the variegated yarn in that lace stitch.

Punk, thanks for the link. I actually saw that, but never thought about using that pattern! I probably will do it without the color changes, because I'm lazy. Cheesy

Yeah, I did, but I did the math wrong with the stitch gauge.
