Good heavens!  Knitpicks must have already sold out of Cotlin - it's no longer listed on their site!

Would this Cotolino work?

what???  i called knitpicks yesterday to order some cotlin and she told me that they were totally out and wouldn't let me order any!   Huh  unfair littleweasel!

i did stop at my LYS to find a sub, yet didn't say for what yarn and they HAD reynolds soft linen!  i couldn't believe it.  of course i like the $2.49 price of cotlin alot more than $6.25 for the rsl...

do you guys think that the merino style will work?  i ordered cotlin for this, and it arrived, and the color is TERRIBLE.  i don't know if it was my monitor or their picture, but the sweater would be hideous in this color... and i'm not sure you could dye over it.  so i have to return it, and i don't know if i should ask for a refund or the merino in exchange.

i think the merino would work - it has the same gauge... i think?

I really want to make this...but I can't find something that would be a good sub. This makes me SAD  Sad  I'll have to see if there is some cascade at my fave store....

I should just focus on the entrelac socks instead.

No, I was merely reading the Muggle magazines. I do love knitting patterns.

I'm using black Alapca from Bendigo Wool Mills (in Australia). Its hard to get nice cotton/linen/bamboo/anything plant fibre without spending over $100....  Shocked. 4 x 200grm balls of Alapca set me back less than $60.

The Alapca is slightly furry, and super soft... I was worried about it being too springy (it kept rolling up) but its blocked flat and light as a feather!!!

(check out my blog if ya wanna see)

I think I'm going to knit mine in the knitpicks Andean Silk.  ^_^  I have an alpaca fetish and I LOVE the look of the "slate" color.  Yum yum pretty.

Also, soft and cozy.  This will be my pretty spring cardigan, and I'm excited.  It's so beautiful!
