Minty Rice Heating Bag

Well I know all my friends and especially my sweetie are tired of hearing me whine when I get cramps or aches and pains.

So I made myself a comfy heat pad out of a cool cotton flannel fabric I got at my local quilting store earlier today.

Plus it was an excuse to use the sewing machine.

Fabric: Printed Cotton.
Filling: 5 cups long grain brown rice + crushed dried mint leaves. Mmmm. Minty.

Only took me about 20 minutes all together and I had to hand stitch it closed because I'm totally inept at that sort of thing on the machine. I'm such a sewing newbie. *laughs*

But I'm so proud of me!

Ah... at least the rice stays in and I'm not whining. *winks*

I bought one of those at a Farmer's Market- but mine is filled with corn- it stays warm soooo long. When you nuke it, it smells like corn, which is good cause I'm in from the Mid-west  . I'm making some of these for my family for Christmas.
