yeah, Cairns was on a higher alert  than anywhere, it was expected to actually hit here, and in fact the schools, hospitals, daycare and most work places were evacuated. It was a night mare on the roads picking up kids from school. my dad had someone drive into him cos they had to save their family they said, even though it was a redlight! a bit of madness..so it was nuts in Cairns today. Anyhow i was just so glad nothing happened with the water levels, as we get bad king tides here sometimes and all the city bussiness area floods, last year a large crocodile floated down the main streets in the floods, out of hiding in the side creeks around the place. we got a heap of heavy rain, as a low had formed last couple of days threatening us with another cyclone, so lucky it just became rain.

hubby rang tonight, he was driving when it happened and the car was rocked in the earthquake and crashed, the roads are not so good, and he hit his head on the windscreen and was knocked out but assures me he is ok. thank goodness. a cairns fellow became a quadraplegic from injuries he got on solomons a few years back. its a bit dangerous.

I am posting in the morning to the 8 out of 10 people who i have heard back from, thanks everyone.

I received some lovely sweatshop goodness in the mail today!

An amazing needle roll from cindy_23492 -it's the absolute perfect size - the needles in there are the longest I have and they fit perfectly! And the construction is amazing - my pics do not do the white cables justice!

A super-cute owl pincushion from sewing lori - he's currently perched in our wreath.  Grin

A very pretty drawstring purse from reethi - I love, love the fabric! And I've already tossed some yarn in there!

Thanks so much to all of you - I luuuurve it all!
