I claim taloola for a wisty surprise!!

This is my first claim this round.  Smiley
--------------------------------------------------------------
I live in Florida (United States).

I’m in my early thirties. My favorite colors are jewel tones like purple, green, blue. I also like pastels in those shades as well. I like black and silver too. I am not fond of pink or orange. I love birds. As far as fabrics go, I like more plain fabrics or cute things (not childish though). No small flowers/polka dots/stripes. I love gaming like World of Warcraft or Myst. I like to read and am into fantasy art as well. Lord of the Rings is probably my all time favorite movie series. Star Wars comes in a close second though. Smiley

crafty items
    * hand-spun yarn Cheesy
    * Yarn! Wool, wool blends, alpaca, cotton. (Please no novelty or acrylic yarn though, my cup runneth over with those right now.)
    * Sari silk yarn.  Smiley
    * felted (fulled) bowl - approx 6 to 8 inches in diameter to put on my night table for my lip gloss, eye mask, meds and other little goodies I need for bedtime.
    * knitted socks (ankle length)- I have arthritis and my left ankle swells pretty badly at times, so I don’t want anything going over my ankle
    * wool roving - needlefelting
    * Wool bats - for spinning (I have a drop spindle, but haven’t used it yet.)
    * messenger bag (medium to large) to take my current project with me on the go.
    * cute bird amigurumis - the fatter the better! Smiley I like it when the head is small and the tummy area is big… so cute! (see wists for ideas) maybe a cardinal? Smiley
    * Nestlace like this one (20″ to 24″ chain preferred): http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=111881.msg1118550#msg1118550
    * set of cotton crocheted or knitted washcloths (white or off-white)  Thank you knitting-nyxxie
    * something from my wists (see signature)

kits
    * microscope slide pendant kit
    * origami w/the pretty papers

supplies
    * rub on letters for cards/paper
    * white fabric ribbon (3/4" - 1″ tall) (to make ribbon labels)

Thank you in advance!

I claim knitting_nyxie for a surprise from her wist!

This is my second claim, (2, 0, 0)

I'm Sarah, 26. I'm in Santa Barbara, CA currently working toward my MA in theatre history. I love intricate, delicate, beautiful things, esp. nature-inspired: deer, birds, ferns, leaves, trees, starfish, and things that look like Versailles wallpaper patterns. Favorite colours: I love colour, period. Not so much neons or pastels, but other than that, just about anything goes. I WEAR a lot of soft greens (olive is my favorite colour), blues, and grays/neutrals. I also like ruddy oranges and burgundies. I find I wear a lot more bright colours here - maybe it's all the flowers. I CANNOT wear yellow I look horridly jaundiced in any/all colours of yellow (sad). I love Virginia Woolf, Remedios Varo, Mary Oliver, Anton Chekhov. I paint, sew, embroider, cook and build potagier gardens in apartment flowerbeds (I love ranunculus, lavendar, rosemary, and english thyme most of all my plants!). My ever-expanding wist should give you a pretty good idea of my taste.

organizational stuff:
1.) wood box shelves. Any woodworkers out there? Books are taking over my apartment and I don't have a saw! I could use as many of these as I could get, no backs, just 10-12-inch-deep squares. Hangers on the back optional. Finishing optional.

Craft Stuff:
3.) Down pillow inserts that I can cover. 50/50 blend of poly/down is okay, too. Prefer square, 14" or 20".

4.) Optical Lenses for making necklaces/neat pretty things with glass. Id like 4-6 of these, vintage/European/oval-shaped if possible, but not necessary.

5.) sterling (oxidized would be great) links - ovals or circles - for working into jewelry. Esp. artisanal/unique links of different sizes/shapes/textures (hammered?)

6.) Sterling headpins/eyepins. In 20 or 22 gauge. If you're feeling generous, I'd love some headpins with pretty detailed heads. Surgical steel would also be okay in a dark finish. A dark (antiqued/fumed) brass would be okay, too.

7.) Semi-precious gemstone beads no chips, please, but any round/faceted/cabochon, etc. beads would be great! I love peridot, smoky quartz, rose quartz, peridot, citrine, chalcedony, garnet, carnelian, amethyst, turquoise, freshwater pearls (coloured okay!), etc. I would also really love some coin-shaped pearls (pref white), I haven't brought myself to fork over the $ for these, but I love them.

8.) Fabric msg. me first. I have pretty specific things I'm looking for (lightweight things for clothes, heavy velvets for couch pillows), and as I'm actually trying to reduce my stash, I don't want things I'm not actually going to be able to use. I'll try to get some pics on my wist, too =)

9.) shadowbox for making shrines or art pieces wood or metal, no cardboard/paper mache, please. (I break things too easily!)

10.) Suede or exotic leathers (ostrich?/snakeskin?) in bright colours: teal, cherry red, kelly green, etc. No black/brown, please -  I have plenty. =)  Smaller pieces okay, just so long as it's enough to make a cuff bracelet with (6.5" X 3-4")

crafted items:
11.) If someone wanted to make me a cap like anthropologies Rapunzel Snow Cap (http://www.anthropologie.com/jump.jsp?itemID=14171&itemType=PRODUCT&iSubCat=2072&iMainCat=336), I would love you forever!! Id prefer a lightweight mohair blend yarn, and a cap with a little room so it doesnt crush my hair flat when I wear it. PM me for head measurements?

12.) fingerless gloves in a cable pattern, or like eunny's endpaper mitties OR if you could make longer ones and work a bare branch pattern over them (see the hat in my wist. like that would be great!). I'd prefer that each finger be separate, if possible. There are some examples on my wist of cable ones that I like. Preferably in logan green, slate grey, burgundy, or navy. PM for measurements? Kind of out of season now, but I still need a pair.

13.) A sturdy tote for packing the extra books that don't fit in my backpack. Doesn't have to be too big, about the size of a cloth grocery bag, but probably best if made out of canvas or upholstery-weight fabric. It needs to have a long strap that can be worn over the shoulder - and the strap should probably be strong and wide enough so it wouldn't cut into my shoulder. (too many books!) Perhaps with a cute stencil perhaps something foresty?... a fawn? An owl? A wee foxie? ferns? Surprise me!

14.) Something from my wist!

15.) *big wish* If anyone would be interested in making some PMC items, I have a few pieces Id really like made to be incorporated into jewelry pieces. They would be relatively small, but I have no $ or room for a kiln, so I can't possibly do it right now... this would be AWESOME.

A big thank-you to anyone who chooses to pick me! =)

I claim fleu_delicious for some knitted fingerless gloves!

This is my second claim, one sent.

About me:
I am a 27-year-old, PhD student in Wisconsin (USA).  I've got a 16-month-old son, another baby on the way, two cats, and a super cute little old house.  I am allergic to oranges (technically, I am allergic to most citrus, but I can eat most everything in moderation except oranges).  I am vegetarian, so no leather or gelatin, please. (if something had to die for it, I don't want it)  Wool is OK, I go back and forth about silk (at the moment, I'm cheating and using silk fabric salvaged from old clothing).

Things I like (in no particular order): Monkeys (chimps), ants, robots, and crazy ocean creatures. Bayesian statistics.  Human anatomy.  Electron microscope images of stuff.  Evolution.  My son is named after Alan Turing.  Decision analysis.  Stars, space, rockets.  I like the creative commons and science commons.  Gardening.

In general, I prefer prints to solid colors - I've included a number of fabrics that I like on my wist, but these are just examples.

My List! (I hope it is long enough)

A conference bag.  A professional looking bag to use at conferences, so subdued fabrics.  My ideal bag would have a divider in the center with one side that can hold those obnoxiously large binders they hand out (like school binders, probably 1.5 inches thick).  The other side would have my knitting.  Oooh, and an internal pocket for the hotel key/pens.  Shorter handles, as I won't be carrying it on my shoulder.

A gym bag.  I cannot imagine being pregnant without swimming.  Big enough for a towel, swimsuit, shampoo, and a clean shirt.

A diaper bag.  We used to have two bags, then I lost one.  Help me with a new one before I lose the one I have left!  I'm not picky - anything from cute and kidish to sophisticated would be fine with me - as long as it is big enough for diaper supplies and some toys.

Clip-on earrings and/or necklace reconstruction from a freshwater pearl necklace I already own.  I recieved this necklace as a gift while living in China, so I am sentimentally attached to it.  I have, however, a nicer string of pearls, so I never wear the gift.  I would be thrilled if someone would use some of the pearls in a different necklace design and/or some clip on earrings.  I'd be happy to donate the left over pearls to that person.

Fun cloths for my son (size T3).  Fun t-shirts for the summer (stencil/embroidered/whatever).  Or if you really want to rock my world, a sailor shirt or a cute vest!

A book of knitting lace patterns or history of knitting type stuff.

One of those hanging things for circular knitting needles.

A wrap dress with short sleeves.  I would like some in printed fabrics, of course, but I'd also really like a black one.

A shirt for my partner, as he needs some craftster love, too.  And some shirts.  His primary interests include robots, helicopters (radio control), space/vastness of the universe, being vegetarian, and the first amendment.

A serving tray - This is a gift for a friend who just bought a condo with a dining room that is separate from the kitchen.  Painted or tiled would be awesome.  She is a chemist who likes to go to the goth club and to rennisance fairs.  She really likes fairies.

Also, I'm going to be needing small or medium sized summer maternity cloths if you have some that are looking for a home.  Homemade/stenciled/embroidered/otherwise altered are, of course, appreciated.

Thanks in advance to whoever picks me!  I love this swap!
