that is an amazingfabulous bag. sadly, i think i am too attached to most of my CD thingies to make a bag out of them.
Me too. But you can always scan them into your computer and print them out. That's what I'm gonna do! Thanks for the idea Michaela*s_Mom . Grin

I actually gave the Aerosmith purse to my friend and forgot to take a picture first -- I will have to beg her to take a picture for me.  I am working on a purse at home right now, so I will try to take pictures as I go along so that I can make a tutorial.

Thanks for all the great feedback!!  I shared the project with one of the girls at my office and she and her daughter made an avril lavigne purse this weekend.  They are also working on one of Hillary Duff.  WooHoo!! Sharing the love of crafts  Kiss

One of the guys here at my office asked me to make CD purses for his wife and sister-in-law for Christmas.  He brought me the CD booklets and I turned out 2 more snazzy purses.  Aerosmith and Britney Spears.  I got tired of looking at Brit's half naked body while I was sewing, but they turned out pretty cute.  The picture quality isn't that great, we took them using a palm pilot.

After seeing some bags made out of albums in a high end boutique for $80, I said "I can make that" but i made mine out of 45rpm records with the pciture sleeves. I slpit that sleeve into two pieces (front and pack) and use clear vinyl. Seeled the record and front of the sleeve in two peices of plastic, the back in two peices and used 3 inch strips of plastic for the sides and bottom (I doubled the bottom so it would be more durable), sewed it all up put a nylon handle (I recycled some old belts). I will post some pictures of them when I get home. I found some awesome 45's at a garage sale (Madonna, culture club, duran duran, cindy lauper) for $.25 each!

That sounds really cool.  My sister and I have talked about turning some of my dad's old album collection into bags, but neither of us have the heart to take apart the albums.  He used to listen to his albums all of the time, and now that he's not with us anymore we don't have the heart to cut them up -- although when we do decide that we can do it I have my eye on the ZZTop albums  Roll Eyes  some are so old that they are pre-beards!!  Until then I will have to stick to the CD booklets.
