I'll let the clock speak for itself, but I think spelling out the numbers is crucial and I also like how they are randomly placed around the game board.

Here's how to make it:
First drill a hole through the center star, when you look at the board, you'll notice it's off center, but I think the star is the place to drill!

In order for the board not to fold over onto itself, the back should be braced with a two small wooden rulers.  Use wood glue to attach the two pieces, so they cross the middle fold

See the fold:  You want to prevent this from moving.

Now use the same wood glue to attach the tiles, use the glue sparingly and quickly remove any glue that seeps from underneath the tile.

Place several heavy books over the top of the tiles, to weight them in place, allow the tiles to dry in place for several hours and perhaps overnight.

Once dry, insert the clock mechanism, assemble the clock and hang that baby!

Finished project, I guess you could also use different words in place of the numbers, as long as they are in the same location.

Happy National Craft Month!

This is sooo awesome!

I would have nver thought of giving up scrabble for a clock, but it's just so unique that it's bound to stand out and bring lots of compliments. Quite the discussion piece, I'm sure Smiley

I love it!  Kiss

Thanks for all of the compliments.  I actually got this board at the thrift store, I too wouldn't want to give up a game for the clock, but if it only cost $2.00 I'm game (pardon the pun) Grin

This is so clever and just...awesome. I've never felt the desire to make a clock before, but now I think I need to go buy an extra scrabble board (I will not sacrifice my actual game)! Thanks for the excellent tutorial and the great idea!

This is fantastic! My family is Scrabble-crazy. I wonder if I can buy my parents a new board and snag the old one to make this.

I love this!  And unlike the rest of you, I have absolutely zero qualms about sacrificing the scrabble board.  I cannot stand the game, but love the look of the board and tiles.

Really really cool, great job! Smiley Scrabble rocks and it's cool that you have books about argentina to press the blocks. (I'll be going there at the end of the month!)
I only have a little scrabble board, the big one is too expensive. And I never saw one for cheap...

I've just emerged from therapy for NOT winning this challenge and I'm curious if anyone else has made a Scrabble Clock.  My therapist says it would be a good idea to see samples created by others who appreciated the idea and voted for it...

I'm now looking out for an old board and tiles to make one,  I could not bear to use mine.  I Love the way the numbers are spelled out around the clock face.   This is very cool.

Honestly, I think this is absolutely genius.  I just love the creativity you've shown.  Do you mind if I steal the idea?  I love anything using scrabble tiles.

When you say steal?  Are you going to resale it or gift it away or even use it for yourself!

I love your clock idea.  It inspired me to make a gift for the family I nanny for, since they already have way too much stuff.   Here's my take on your idea:

I took it a little further by adding pictures of their family that I tinted and added paint effects to with Photoshop:

The new Scrabble boards (this close to Christmas, I wasn't waiting to find a used one, but only $8 at Toys R Us!) have a huge space on the left.  It took me awhile to decide what to do with it, and then forever to replicate the Scrabble banner with the family's name because I couldn't find a similar enough font (yes, I'm that picky).  But I like how it turned out:
