So, my boyfriend just moved and we spent all sorts of time making his room look like a real room, painted walls and everything. His old room had curtains made out of superhero bedsheets (also made by me) but they just didn't fit in with the new room. He wants to paint a shark on his wall, so sticking with the nautical theme I made these curtains for him.

The curtains are made out of an old bedsheet I had. The squid and whale are hand-painted on there with fabric paint.

Some detail shots:

I tried to take pictures both at night and during the day and neither gives you a realistic presentation of the colors. The room is painted light blue with chocolate brown trim and so I the curtains are a light tan with the creatures painted in a dark sort of cobalt blue.

I'm pretty pleased with them. This was my first time really painting anything like this on fabric. The hem on the squid curtain is a little uneven, but oh well...

Thanks for looking!

Wow, those are really nice. You painted the images? Did you freehand them, or stencil, or what? They came out really nice. Not only that, I like that the rest of the curtain is simple. I just might have to steal this idea.

I drew them on big pieces of paper first, and then I traced them onto the fabric.

Also, thank you!
