I'm going to be Molly Ringwald for Halloween because I've absolutely adored her since the early 80's.
It seems like every Halloween I want to be her, and I just recently dyed my hair red, so it's the perfect timing.
Someone I know thinks that no one will get it, so I want to know:

what do you all think are major characteristics I should incorporate into my costume to make it recognizable?

Thanks so much for any input!

I was molly once before. I was going for the 16 candles outfit she wore to school. My mom had this plaid, reddish brown puffy skirt. I wore a white tank top, with a black sweatshirt (sleeves and neck cut off) over the tank top. big chunky bracelets, dangly crystal earrings, pumps. the only thing i didn't have was the hat. it was cool.

yeah that pink prom dress from pretty in pink would be cool, and totally recognizable.

My friend sometimes colors her hair red and I think she looks just like Molly Ringwald! I also think that outfit from the breakfast club would be reconizable. I think it was slouchy boots, pink cotton skirt calf length and I think a matching blouse with like a "slash" neck looking thing. It has been a while since I've seen it though so that may not be the most accurate description. Oh don't forget the bangles. Orginial costume idea, by the way.
