Forgive me for posting before I have the bottoms finished, but I'm just so pleased with how this turned out.

Sewing spandex is definitely something that takes practice and a very personal relationship with your sewing machine and serger's tension controls.  That said, once you have it down, it's no more difficult than sewing anything else with a tricky body.

that's excellent! very nicely done. I'm so impressed with the center ring area and how neatly you sewed the gathers around it. that's a tricky thing, no doubt. Smiley

Thanks for noticing!  I actually did that part by hand, so it was very time-consuming.

Smiley  did you spread out a small length at a time, just the area you were stitching, then work your way around the ring?

did you line it or is the underside of the fabric white?

p.s. - the color is awesome too.

Wow, the design on that turned out really well, it looks professional. The color looks really good on you.

Stop being so damned positive. Staring at the sun only blinds some one. By only looking at the positive, you miss an entire beautiful world of shadows and colors. Don't be overly negative, be realistic. The world is so much more complex and beautiful that way.

That's exactly how I did it.  Smiley

The top is lined because the orange stuff was just too transparent, especially when wet and stretched (something that all potential swimsuit fabric should be tested for.)
