I really want to learn how to knit... I learned once, when I was quite a bit younger, but remember nothing of it!

I've been looking at classes around the city- and might end up doing one at Winsor Button- but they're not very easy for my scedule, etc.  I don't really want to do anything complicated, just to be able to make scarves or blankets... maybe a hat or mittens!

Sound good to anyone?  I can pay a little... or if you have kids or something, trade for babysitting hours?  I can sew, if you want to learn that in exchange...
I'm a BU student- I'd be happy to meet you somewhere convenient, a long as it's T-accessible.
Thanks!
Julia

Mind's Eye Yarns in Porter Square (22 White Street, I think) has knitting classes on Wednesday evenings and spinning classes on Thursdays.  I was going to go to Weds p.m. classes but it conflicts with my drum lessons.

There is also a Yahoo group for Stitch n' Bitch groups in the Boston area.  They have meetings almost every day of the week in different areas.  If you do a web search on Stitch n Bitch you can link up to it.  There may be someone there who can help you out.

Good luck!  I may be looking to take knitting lessons soon, myself!

There is a knitting group at Brookline Booksmith, I think they meet once a month. I bet if you went there you'd find lots of helpful people.

Mind's Eye will also do private lessons for about $12 a class.  You can either call and make an appointment or walk in.  They even teach spinning there!  Plus, the lady who runs the store is wicked nice.

I always laugh my buttocks off over this line!  Shoot, maybe we'll watch this tonight . . .

O/T SORRY!

I have to be OT here too - my husband was in a (Boston) band called Krebstar a few years ago. I have a funny feeling your username is related to Pete and Pete and not the band, but I figured I'd ask... Wink

You are exactly right.  I love Pete & Pete!  I also live in Boston, small world.
