Hi there party people. I was just thinking. I get inspiration from all over when it comes to dyeing yarn/roving.  But maybe there's people out there who have always wanted to see BLANK color paired with BLANK color and just can't find it anywhere?  Well, here's your chance.

What is your favorite color comobo?  And what colors would you love to find in roving and have yet to see?
-PS, my fav's are pink/brown and pink/grey.  Although I don't really like pink. I mean, I don't WEAR pink anyway.  hmmm. I just realized that I'm crazy.  OK, your turn!

I am a huge fan of brown and green.  Also brown and blue.  and green and orange.  I think my favorite roving that I've looked at and bought was handpainted (not by me) orange, with dashes of red, green, and brown.

I'm a huge fan of green and purple. Most of my bought yarn is green or purple, my blog colours are green and purple. For some reason I haven't yet tried it when dyeing though.

A colourway I've tried but haven't been successful yet is one based on a top I tried on once. It's red, burnt orange and chocolate brown, I think of it as being like molten lava.

very nice. I also love blue and brown.  I was into that before this whole neopolitan thing right now. But brown and green sounds gorgeous. I just saw some bfl on etsy those colors. pretty.
green and purple is also nice. I think of gemstones when I think of those colors together. like amethyst and peridot. hmmmm... pretty.
thanks for your input guys!   Grin

I like bright bright color combinations. Probably the most favorite roving I've dyed so far is bright green, tangerine orange, burgundy, and violet (actually, it's the one in my icon...). I like a lot of contrast, pastels are boring. Yellow and purple, yellow black and grey, green with almost anything except red...

I'm not generally fond of pink either, unless it's paired with other colors.

I'm a sucker for shades of blues and greens and combinations of the two.  I also really love browns/greens/blues together.  (I need to branch out in my color palette!)

Generally I'm not a fan of pinks or purples, but I do like seeing them in combination with other colors like brown (Cheesy) and uses sparingly with blues and/or greens.

I like seeing a yarn or dyed roving where the color palette was taken from a common sight in nature:  autumn colors; sea colors; beach colors.  I never seem to be able to acheive it myself though!

*Apparently my brain sorts colors by my preference even in my sleep.  Last night I dreamed that I was being given roving and I could take what I wanted. (Hopefully this was a premonition)  The ropes had patches of blues, patches of greens, browns, undyed space then sections of pink and purple.  In my dream I was going along the rope and tearing the pink/purple sections out and discarding them!

if you can't be a good example then you'll just have to be a horrible warning.

HAHA!  that's hu-larious!  I love it. Yeah, I grew up with 2 older brothers so all things pink were not my bag, baby.  But I've gotten to be slightly more girly as time goes on.  Except I just got a mohawk cut yesterday! woohoo.  but pink/purple? Make me puke! =0) But to each his (or HER) own, I know... I just think that most of the roving I see out there is kinda the same and BORING!  wanted to see what youall think and see if I'm crazy or not. Am I the only one hoping for black and green and grey?  maybe not from what I hear... yayyyy! Grin
