My mum is going golfing in Florida but she's really nervous about leaving me and my dad (he has severe depression) alone for a week so I wanted to make her a gift to take with her. She's easily homesick so anything with pictures etc is a no-go. I want it to be a functional gift not excess baggage, like a beach bag or something. Her and her travel buddies call themselves the "gator girls" (there was a alligator on their first trip to florida) so if that could be incorporated it'd be great.

Here's the problem though, she leaves this week so if replies could be made asap that'd be awesome.

Thanks guys

You could maybe make a golf club cover in the shape of an alligator head (I've seen animal covers on the crochet board).

I would probably get her a really nice suntan lotion and maybe some comfy flip flops. Maybe some perfume that is coconut scented or something tropical.. and put it with a UF Gator?

That's what we love down here.. Smiley

Yeah, maybe like a beach survival kit. Flip flops, suntan lotion, chick lit novel, and, ahem, Gator-ade, all in a bag you made yourself.

The most comfortable sandals in the world are Tevas, with all the straps. The straps are actually tubes, so they don't dig into your feet.

This is what I was going to suggest, a beach or travel care package.  You could also put like sunglasses, some girly magazines, crossword puzzles, beach towel, shovel & pail?, some soothing aloe lotion if she burns easily or tanning lotion if she doesn't...  And the gatorade would be a cute touch!

I agree with the sunscreen. Maybe you could get her a hat to golf in to keep the sun out of her face. If it's plain you could dress it up with appliques or whatever.

The gatorade is a good idea!
