Sorry, I won't be able to attend your quilt stich 'n bitch, but I am so happy that you guys are getting together to work for such a great cause!  I work on Sherbrooke very close to Bead it, but I haven't been in yet.  I know exactly what you mean about the Bead Emporium though.  I find they are never very friendly to me in there except for during the big summer sidewalk sale where I bought some really cool flexible fimo for half price!!    I have heard rave reviews about the Mouline Yarn store.  I guess it opened in November.  I can't wait to go.

It's at lionel-groulx station, it's a 5 minutes walk from the station
and for some instructions: you go down atwater when you get out of the metro (towards atwater market) and turn left on notre-dame

Thanks a lot!  I don't know the lionel groulx area that much so i was uncretain of where to go. Does anyone know if they sell bamboo circs or dpns?  I fear the amount of money i might spend if i go to the store this week.

I just went to the Mouline store for the first time two days ago.   I had a friend take me there since I am really bad with directions, but it is really easy to get there from Lionel-Groulx.  I don't recall whether they had the bamboo needles, she had quite an assortment, but the owner is very nice and would surely get them for you.  She has some amazing sales too, and I hear that they are fairly frequent.

okay. So i just found out that i get to go work in montreal for the summer (i'm FLIPPING excited!!).

i need all your tidbits on crafty/fun things...good bars to go to, etc! give me a tour of alternative montreal!! are there any good places/opportunities to meet alternative-crafty-designy people that you can think of?

i should say that i've visited before but i've never been able to explore montreal throughly, so i am pretty familiar with it..

I went to Mouline 2 weeks ago.  The wool was really nice but I didn't find the owner to be that helpful.  When I asked questions she looked at me like I was annoying her.  Maybe she was having a bad day :S

ETA : I went back to the store the other day and had such a better time.  The owner is actually very nice, so I think she was just having a bad day the first time I went.
