I'm very interested in the wet felting process.  I'm a little familiar with it, but was amazed with some of the projects I saw here.

So my question is what are you favorite books for wet felting.  Any tips on how to get started would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Hi there kristle, and welcome to the world of felting  Smiley

We did start a thread to contain that sort of info, but we haven't had many book reccomendations so far
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=66730.0

There's also this thread that contains links to the various tutorials the felting squad have put together.

Tips to get started - buy a chunk of roving and go for it!
Don't be afraid of getting it wrong, or wasting your wool.

Another tip is to search online for "felt making or felt-making" there is lots of great support info online, often with more photos than in books.

This is not the world's busiest board, it often takes more than a few hours to get a response. At least one of the moderators is in Australia, and the users are spread out all over the place.

Anywho... I've not seen or read the book in question but it reviews well on Amazon.

Here's a link to the table of contents from the publisher's website.
http://www.quarrybooks.com/description.asp?isbn=1-59253-275-6#

After looking at the publisher's website, I realized that I actually own several books from this company and have been pleased with the quality of the books in terms of binding, paper quality and image reproduction. All of which is important to me in selecting a craft book to add to my library but may not mean much in the grand scheme of things. Good luck finding the information that you're looking for.

I have a copy of this book - what kind of content are you exactly interested in?  The projects include some garments, yardage, and smaller items - I'm at work right now and don't have a copy with me, but I can answer specific questions when I get home.

I think there is also a version in Japanese.

I am interesting in:
A Ladys Hat   and
Little Ladys Flower Beret
 Smiley
Maybe you can reccomend me a good book about wet felting? For advanced level ?
And nunofelting ?
Thank you!

A Lady's Hat is a basic wet felted hat project, using a flat resist and then a hat form to shape the hat. The directions look similar to those used in a felted hat class that I took last fall.

The flower beret is a shaped/decorative hat  - it includes a sample template for making a flower-shaped beret, but you can make whatever shape you want.

I haven't made either of these two projects, so I'm not sure how helpful I can be...

Mohair Yarn Scarf seems to be a nuno project (in the book), using mohair novelty yarn and voile.

If you are interested in hats, there is also a book by Chad Alice Hagen, _Fabulous Felt Hats_ - I don't have it, so I can't comment.
