Nothing is so simple that it can't be screwed up

I am just about finished redecorating my 3-year-old's room.  It was basically just a beige room before we did it up.  She picked out the paint and bedding.  My Daughter and husband are both obsessed with sock monkeys!  I made the curtains and bedskirt, and framed sock monkey pictures from 2 different books.  I am still looking for a pretty area rug for in front of the armoire.  I will eventually hang something over the side of her bed too.  It is hard to get good pics- I really need a wide angle lens  , but you get the idea.

Thanks for looking!  Now I can work on the nursery and hopefully finish before our baby boy arrives in April!

I love it. That's really cute and sweet without being over the top, so it will grow with her for a bit! Congratulations on the new baby, hope his room turns out as good as this one!

I love pink and I LOVE the sock monkey theme. Why not make a sock monkey area rug to match the bedding?

Thanks everyone!  You know, I really wanted to paint the room yellow, but the "princess" insisted on pink.  So I gave her a choice of 3 pinks that I could live with.  Of course, she picked the brightest of the 3  Cheesy

Funthreads- a sock monkey area rug would be "to die for"!  I highly doubt I could make one though.

I think you could do it. You could create a fuzzy rug using latch hook and yarn or a flatter rug using locker hook and fabric strips. You can buy the mesh canvas at sewing stores. Draw a design sketch to follow. It shouldn't be too hard to do just time consuming. Here is a link to a locker hooking site

I love her Paul Frank bedding!  Cheesy She's a lucky little princess to have a room like that and a queen of a mom to make it happen for her!

Very nice and sweet. A perfect little girl/princess room. I especially like the window mirror and how it reflects light onto the wall next to it.

Thank you all!  Now that we've lived with it for a few weeks, it feels very homey.  I've grown accustomed to the pink...

I love the room and am I the only person in the world that didn't have a sock monkey when I was a kid? I had to make one when my son was little.

susankg3- my husband never had one either.  His obsession started when I gave him one in college.  He's been collecting ever since.

eatmoreplants- no, I haven't seen it.   I don't know how to knit though.  I see you like Dr. Seuss.  As do I.  I framed 4 pages from an old Dr. S. book for the nursery (If I Ran the Circus).  http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=161717.0

missjesswinkwink- thanks!
