I just wanted to post a quick something about this specific fabricland.  The staff there completely made my day.  I was fabric shopping and found the most awesome fabric ever, well, in my opinion anyways.  I wanted to make a dress out of it but the fabric on the bolt was about a metre short.
The woman cutting the fabric called other stores but no one had it in stock.  She told me that she had extra at home and told me that she would bring it in for me the next day.
She ended up giving me about 2 and a half metres.  I just thought it was awesome of her to go out of her way for a customer who's not even a regular.

That was very sweet of her! I think we'd all like to see the dress when it's done.

Wow -- talk about customer service! :-)

I find the Fabricland in Orleans is really good for finding really nice fabrics -- way better than the one on Merivale. Customer service is about average for it, but it seems to have a better variety of stuff than some of the other locations.

Nod politely when people tell you it can't be done. Then go out and do it anyway!

This is good to know for me, because I am a student living on Riverside near Hurdman Station, and I bus, so to get to any of them is a jaunt for me. I might as well go to the best one!

Oh, and off topic, but the Walmart in South Keys -- the fabric section is all gone now! Sad

There's a Fabric Flea Market this Saturday, October 13 at the Glebe Community Centre. Basically it's a large room full of people selling their stash of fabric, patterns and sewing notions. I picked up tons of stuff last year for cheap.

I agree. I have never had bad service at this Fabricland. I am glad that they could help you Smiley
