I finished my first sock, also my first attempt at knitting in the round.  I can't believe I waited so long to try either. Sock knitting is fun, I like that it's so portable.

I'm impressed. I still fear knitting in the round. And socks. Maybe this will inspire me to try!

I was the same - I learnt to knit years ago and had knitted cable sweaters etc. but for some reason lived in fear of knitting in the round. As for socks, I had somehow picked up the idea that they were some sort of scary, rocket science.

I couldn't believe how easy it was once I got going. I totally recommend giving it a shot!

Those are great!

Sock knitting really is fun, isn't it? I'm on my second pair now (following the 6 sox along in yahoo groups). I was really intimidated at first because it seems so difficult, but it's not really. Actually another "My first Socks" thread on this board a little while back inspired me to try them). And I like that you don't get bored because you end up doing up a bunch of different things.
