Were back!  Our new calendar has hit the streets, and our first workshop is coming up this weekend!

For those of you who dont know us, we are a Craft Collective in Vancouver with the mandate to cultivate the contemporary craft scene in this city by providing craft resources (ie.  workshops, advice, written information), community involvement (craft events, craft fairs, sometimes dance parties) and running (eventually) an art gallery and craft resource centre.  We used to have a centre on Pender St, were shut down by the city, took a 10-month hiatus, and have recently returned!

At the moment we dont have a permanent home, so our workshops and events are being held at locations throughout the community, thanks to the generosity of many local organizations and businesses.

Wed love to have involvement from the whole craft community, so if you are interested in facilitating a workshop (it pays pretty well), helping out at events, being a Collective Member, helping us develop our resource centre, wed love to hear from you. (email seamrippers@gmail.com)

Here follows some promotional information, so if you are interested, keep going.

Workshops coming up include:

Lino Block Printing with Tania Willard
Sat Feb 24th 3-6pm at the Purple Thistle

Beginners Knitting with Kirsten Pudas
Tues Mar 8th 6-9pm at Spartacus Books

Also coming up are workshops in book-making, doll-making, felting, live-culture food and more.

Full calendar is at www.seamrippers.org, (and if youre lucky, you might find one at a coffee shop or business near you.)

Also starting up March 6th  at Rhizome caf is our (bi-weekly in March, weekly in April) Craft Socials, casual opportunities for crafters to meet and craft over beer or coffee or tea at Rhizome Caf and the Brickhouse.

And, as well, the I Heart Crafts Bazaar April 15th, which is still accepting submissions for jury.

And we will have a real website up soon, promise.

Were tickled pink to be back, hope to see you out there.
