skrillaknits,

I know I've seen your knitting around on the 'net - it's awesome and now your sewing skills are too! Good for you - trying something new.

The beauty of making your own garments is that SIZE doesn't matter - the garment is made especially for you.  Grin

Looking forward to seeing more sewing from you!

Love it!  That is fun fabric, and a very stretchy cotton is a lucky find indeed.

Pattern sizing is completely different than clothing sizing (mostly because ready-to-wear has had size inflation and patterns for the most part have not), so don't even give a second thought to that.  Go by the measurements given for the finished garment.

You are so adorable it's ridiculous.  And I love the top, the fabric reminds me of this old wallpaper my mom used to use (that's a very good thing, I promise.)

So I spent a good hour or so looking for fabric today. I couldn't find anything I would like as a dress, but I did find some cute leaf fabric that I liked for the top. Seeing as this is a really simple top, I'll probably have pictures in the next few days.

What a cute top!  Would also look cute with a ribbon or a belt around the waist if you wanted it to be a little more fitted...  Great job!

That is a super cute top and the fit is great. Amazing to be able to get a great fit on the first try. I'm impressed. But the favorite part for me was the look of glee and the 'i'm hooked' part of never taking it off and starting another. Isn't it fun?!

Great job!  I'm also primarily a knitter/crocheter with a fear of sewing... but my boyfriend bought me a sewing machine for Christmas as a surprise, he saw me sewing sock monkeys by hand.  Smiley

Now I'm hooked too!  I've been having so much fun with my machine, but I have yet to get up the nerve (or patience) to try a pattern.  Maybe I'll try this one!

Uhhh...I think I'm just going to make a zillion of these, as my schedule allows. This is still too small, but I bought a new pattern and will recut my REAL size before making another, I promise.

The back is a little blousy...

Coolest part--my own label! Got it at Namemaker.com:

Hope all you master sewers are at least slightly amused by how thrilled I am by this bread-and-butter sort of garment! Cheers =)
