I have decided that the next cookbook I buy has to be about cooking for 1 or 2.  Anybody have any favorites?

One of my favorites for small servings, from my veg cookbook collection would actually be "The One-Dish Vegetarian [Paperback] by Robbins, Maria" I bought a used version and it was really cheap. No pictures, but really nice little recipes. I like it allot. Theres another vegetarian cookbook that i would really reccomend, just because its a great book, and has SO much in it. It makes large (sometimes) servings, but never to the point that you wouldnt be able to pack the leftovers in small tupperwear.

let me go run and grab it....

Okay its called "THe greatest ever vegetarian cookbook" with consultant editor: Nichola Graimes. Published by the Hermes House.

Really one of my favorites, and ive tried allot of the recipes in it.

You could just buy a vegetarian cookbook and halve/quarter the recipes. =/That's what I always do, since I eat different meals from everyone else in my family he he ge,

I do the same a Veggie, I make sure I cut the sizes down because I'm the only veggie in the household and friends either don't visit so often or refuse my wierd dishes. *sigh* If they only knew how good soy is for them.

I have a HUGE, and I mean GIGANTIC book called 1000 Vegetarian Recipes from Around the World from Paragon Publishing. The recipes are all fairly small and are organized by which kinds of dishes they are (deserts, soups, etc.)

The other book I love using is Vegetarian and Vegetable Cooking: The Definitive Encyclopedia of Healthy Vegetarian Food by Christine Ingram. In the beginning of the book there is a guide to different types of vegetables, fruits and herbs, where to find them, how to cut them, how to use them, and it has very helpful guidelines. It has some very delicous and exotic dishes in fairly small servings. There are so many recipes with so many pictures, almost a picture for every single recipe. There's also the VERY healpful index system in the back as well if you need to look up something beyond soup, pasta, desert labels.

Good luck with the vegetarian cookbook search Smiley
