about a year or so ago, hobby lobby had all sugar n cream yarns on sale for 99 cents, so i got a few skeins of my favorite, emerald. i used the first skein and half on a simple garter stitch scarf, and a few months later decided i wanted a hat as well. i adore seed stitch and girly-looking beanies, and so i made up my own easy pattern, using #7 needles and only 2 rows of decreasing! (my past self patterned hat experiences were usually ruined due to either too little or too much decreasing, so i was amazed that i did something right for once!)
CO 72.
knit 1 row.
work 1x1 ribbing for 7 rows.
knit 2 rows.
work seed stitch for anywhere between 21-25 rows, depending on how short you want it.
first decrease row *k2tog, p2tog* till the end of the row.
work seed stitch 4 more rows.
second decrease row k2tog across.
cut however much tail you think you will need to sew it up, cut, thread the tail through remaining stitches, sew it up, weave ends!
8 episodes of saved by the bell later (marathon, woot!) it was done!
