Slouch-a-long!

I am working on le slouch in caron simply soft eco aqua mist... It is my first attempt with dpns, and i am enjoying it, even if my ribbing was a little wonky at first.  It is just kind of slow, haha.  I think it will fit, though it looks kind of small.  Thanks to this thread for inspiring me to finally try the pattern!  I'd been looking at it for awhile.

My hat is at the decreasing stage.  I'm really excited to see how it turns out.  I tried it on in the car yesterday with the needles sticking out of it and all.

I did it!!! I finished it!  yay me, yay for new hat


The pattern was very easy to follow, only had to go to knitting help.com twice for to figure out what something meant or how to do the stich.

This is my third knitting project. (1. sampler scarf 2. baby hat 3. purple Le slouch)

  I've been so busy that I haven't had a chance to order some size 9 dpn.  I'm almost there...

I didn't have 9's... I just used 8's for the whole thing...  not knowing enough to know if it would mess it up too badly.  but it fits that's the important thing.

I'm brand new to this site (just joined today!)  And relatively new to knitting.  I love hats.  I've knit a couple of beanies in the past with moderate success.  I am self taught and don't know any knitters so I'm generally on my own.  I now know to look for knitting help on the web instead of just improvising or giving up!  I'm definitely making one of these slouchy berets!  I think I'll try the big blue beret.  Looks easy enough!
