I made this tote for my sister's birthday.  I'm so pleased with it!   Cheesy  I used this tutorial by gloriana, but didn't follow it exactly.



I put a pocket between the straps on both sides of the bag.  You can see it in this action shot.



I'm still trying to figure out what kind of bag to make for my other sister, whose birthday is only three days after this sister's birthday...

I like the combination of blue and brown - and that is has an outer pocket Smiley. It is also large enough to hold in more than a a book or keys and cellphones. your sister must be really happy.
