When I go to school, I don't keep my wallet in my bag, so I usually end up shoving bus money, lunch money, and spare change in my pocket, and I have lost my bus money before and had to mooch off of a stranger so I could get home. So, I needed someplace to put my cash:

It was really easy and simple to make. I basically just made 2 circles, about 4 and a quarter inches in diameter. Then I stole a zipper from an old pair of jeans and sewed it to both circles, than seamed the rest of the circles together to close it up.

It's just big enough to hold a couple bills, and some spare change.

Here is a close up of the zipper instalation:

Thanks for looking, let me know what you think!

That is adorable & brilliant at the same time!  I love the idea of stealing the  zipper from an old pair of jeans!  Great job!

Ok, I made a little Tutorial for the money-pouch thing. You'll need 2 crocheted circles and a little zipper (again, I stole mine from a pair of jeans).

I used a worsted weight yarn and a size H crochet hook, just so I could get them made up quickly, but you would probably want to crochet it at a tighter gauge so it's nice and stiff and nothing will poke out of it. Next, hold one circle up to one side of the zipper:

And sew it down the length of the zipper:

Then, line up the other circle to the other half of the zipper:

And sew it down, too:

After the zipper is attached, thread a yarn needle with the same yarn you used to crochet it, and sew up the rest of the diameter of the circle:

And, Viola! Your done:

This is great! It's easy (thanks for the tute!) and looks like a pretty quick project. And practical, too! Now...to find a pair of jeans to "sacrifice!" I'll just have to add this to my list of 'must make this' items!

You don't have to sacrifice a pair of jeans if you have any other zippers laying around. I didn't, but I had jeans!
