...but it's summer here down under and it's BLAZING HOT here. I just want to ask all of you: what do you knit when it get's hot?! I unfortunately don't have any airconditioning and I'm itching to knit. I see all my WIPs and I pine away to knit at them. I pick them up and I can't knit for more than one row without feeling gross and hot and sticky. Probably doesn't help that I'm working on a wool scarf..

So, help and suggestions anyone? distract yourselves from the cold one moment, pleeease?  Smiley

tank top?
socks?
non-wool sweater?
newsboy hat?
wristbands (learn intarsia or beadwork)?

I live in Las Vegas and have much the same issue with it being warm.  It's "winter" here and 70 degrees (don't hate me northeastern/midwest Americans!).  At least I'm climate controlled.

Dishcloths!  You can never have too many cotton knit dishcloths...plus you can try out different stitches with them AND they're quick and easy.   Smiley

I don't knit in the summer.  My main vice is cross stitch, so when I want to craft in the summer, I stick to that.

If you want to knit despite the heat, I'd suggest that you stick to lightweight yarns - the last thing you need in your hands right now is heavy thick wool.

2/18/12 - I no longer have the directions for wrapped pens, I lost them several years ago. To obtain them for yourself, do like I did, contact DMC threads directly and ask for them.
