Correct me (or delete me...) if I am wrong, but I see a lot of individual posts about first-spun fibers. So, I thought it might be cool to have one topic spot where we can all post that stuff. then new people can see where the old spinsters have been, and we can all admire how talented the new people are. in one spot. yes, no, maybe so? I love fiber Fridays because I can go directly there to see what people have spun throughout the week, and the get to know your fellows thread is GREAT. so, um, here's mine. Love to see yours.

So I started spinning about three years ago but have only recently become obsessed with it (thanks Craftster...) here is my very first bit of handspun:

This is my first bit without help. I had to give you two angles because it's really snarly:

I keep them in a cabinet I painted to remind me of where I have come from. I'm thinking  when I start spinning what I dye, it will bring more color to the display.

I think it's a great idea, Ginamonster!  Here's my first handspun, from just last year!

It's merino/tencel roving from The Sheep Shed.  Totally overspun in places, but I still love it!

Oh! I think this thread is a fantastic idea!

It'll also be good for the newbies (like me! XD) to see that their first yarns aren't any better/worse than anyone elses!

Here's my first "skein" I dyed it with kool-aid too! It was wool of unknown origin from a kit I ordered on eBay.

It's horible, i know.. lol Every once in a while, I take it out and squish it and I like to see just how much I've improved. Cheesy

wow mine is like a blob of fuzz compared to all of yours!  i posted this in the discussion board, but actually meant to post it on this one.  its a pic of my first skein-like blob, and my much improved single 3 tries later  (the orange fuzzy thing in the corner is my cat trying to get in on the action):

I think its a great idea for people to have their own individual posts, actually. Everyone likes some one on one loving, rather than getting lost in the fray Cheesy

Great jobs!

See, and I thought it was easy for the individual posts to get lost in the fray, whereas I can bookmark one spot and know I can go there and look. I don't always have the patience to sift through. I suppose that regardless of what we think, people will do what is best for them. The important thing is that people post and get the encouragement to keep going!

There arent a whole lot of posts around these parts, so really... It doesnt matter much. The last post on the first page is from nearly a month ago, so it's not like the posts will get lost right away Cheesy

I completely agree about getting encouragement! To each their own. This board is about posting completed projects, however it's done
