I couldn't find any previous matchbox shrine swaps thru the search I just did so will assume this would be number 1.

As Katxenas matchbox supply swap is in sign up stages right now, I thought it would be a great time to start the promised thread for matchbox shrines.  I will start signups after the majority of people have sent for the matchbox supply swap (probly late Feb early march) in case you're waiting for new inspirational goodies Grin  I'm thinking a quick crafting time with 1 or 2 partners whichever each swapper would like.

The matchboxes will be decorated inside and out and you can communicate with your partner(s) as to what theme (if any) to do.  Some ideas are: mexicana, famous artists/paintings, inspirational (hope, joy etc), one word, one colour, animals......

This should extend our fun with our new matchbox supplies for those of us in the supply swap, although everyone is welcome!!!

I think this sounds like a lot of fun, but I'm a little bit swapped out right now.  I'm not sure I'll have space to participate!

I know its getting harder and harder to plan my swapping schedule (my feeble attempt at some kind of organization Cheesy)  every time a space frees up something else comes along to fill it.  This one should be fun and quick like the supply swap.  If only we could count on the mail system.....

hello???  I thought we'd get a few more people from the matchbox supply swap for this one.  Or other tiny-friendly crafters, who doesn't need a little matchbox shrine in their pocket/bag??

Some examples:

http://www.art-e-zine.co.uk/matchbx.htm

These would be made from a tiny matchbox (sewknitter has generously posted a link to a template if you want to make your own-look on the current matchbox supply thread)  Decorate the inside and outside with anything your heart desires.

Lots of people don't check the new swap theme ideas. I think you should go ahead with it. I'm pretty sure there will be lots of interest.  Smiley

I can't remember -- did you post about it in the discussion thread for the fill-a-matchbox swap?  There was a lot of interest in it there.
