Sign-up date range: February 15-March 9, 2007
Date to send item by:
Send-Out Visitor and Contracts: March 16
Send Visitor Back Home: May 1

Limited to a certain number of people? (optional): Nope
Restricted to people who all live in the same country? Nope
All ages allowed? Or 18+? All ages, but remember to check with a parent if you are under 16

Swap Organizer himself/herself meets these conditions:
- Has fully read the Swap Info Guide: YES
- Has successfully completed two swaps as a participant: YES
- Is not organizing more than three swaps right now: YES
- Will recruit a co-organizer or give all details to a Swap Moderator if this swap has more than 25 participants: YES

Swap Organizer will check each participant to make sure they meet these conditions:
- Has been a member for at least one month: YES
- Has posted at least 15 times: YES
- Has completed one swap successfully before signing up for multiple swaps at a time: YES
- Is not currently signed up for more than five swaps: YES
- Does not have any negative feedback: YES

In addition, you must have been a member for at least two months and have thirty posts and if youre shipping to a different country, you must be willing to ship using a method that takes around 3 weeks or less (no surface shipping to europe that takes 6 weeks! its not fair to your partner or to me!). (rules I kept from previous little visitor swaps)

This swap is different in many ways, and it's VERY important that you read the details of it and that you are sure that you will be able to complete the swap in accordance with them before joining!

Details of swap (most of it stolen from previous swap organizers):

You will send a stuffy to your partner by March 16, along with a bio and contract that your partner will sign and send back promising to love and care for your stuffy as if it was their own.

You should work on finding your little visitor and writing his/her bio as soon as you are approved for the swap, since the first send-outs are only a week after partners are matched up.  You don't have to do any crafting for the first send-outs, though (unless you are making a new stuffie, which, of course, is fine), so I am hoping that only a week to send out for the first time shouldn't be a problem.

Once you recieve your new little visitor, show them around!  You should visit at least 8 different areas/parts of town/activities so that they can get the real experience of your community.  Of course, the more places they visit, the better!  And be sure to take lots of pictures to send home with your new friend!

This is different than previous rounds: It is optional for you to make some sort of clothing or accessory to remember their trip by.  Of course, the more you send home with them, the more memorable their trip will be, but if you would rather put your time into their scrapbook/journal then making clothing items, that is your choice.  The reason I am doing this is because for some stuffies, it is difficult to make clothing OR accessories for them.

Collect memorabilia as well, wherever you go, and use it with the pictures to make a small scrapbook or journal of their trip.  Be creative and be descriptive, so that your partner can feel as though they were there too!

Send your partner home by May 1.  Feel free to toss in a few extra souvenirs or anything else to show how much fun you had!  Remember to send extra souvenirs that are unique to your area!  If you are in Michigan, maybe send some maple syrup or something with cherries on it from Traverse City!  If you are in Wisconsin, maybe something with cheese!  If you are in Florida, maybe something having to do with the beach!  If you are in Pennsylvania, maybe a Hershey's candy bar!

To Reiterate:
* Send your stuffy, it's bio, and the contract to your partner by March 16.
*Sign your partner's contract and mail it back AS SOON as you recieve their stuffy.
* Take your little visitor around town and show them the sights!  Make sure they have fun, and stay safe!
*Make the scrapbook and some small wardrobe item (if you feel so inclinde), like a scarf, bikini, necklace, hat, bag, whatever)
*Mail the stuffy, it's new wardrobe item, the scrapbook, and any souveniers you want to throw in back to your partner by May 1

IF YOU ARE MAILING WITHIN YOR OWN COUNTRY, YOU MUST GET A DC NUMBER when you send your stuffy and when you send your partners back! if youre mailing internationally, you MUST KEEP YOUR RECEIPT (or other proof of mailing that is approved by me before sending)! i suggest taking a picture of your receipt right away, so that you dont have to worry about losing it by the time we start to worry about your package!

Once you are matched up with your partner, please stay in contact with them!  If you haven't heard from your partner in a while, please let me know!  I hope we don't have any flakers, but if we do, it's better if we catch them quickly.

THIS IS A COMPLICATED SWAP AND ITS LONGER THAN MOST. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE read everything before you sign up, and make sure you can commit to everything.

THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND WHILE CHOOSING A STUFFY TO SEND-
- small is better than large. not only do you have to ship it, your partner has to ship it back!  also, small stuffies tend to be easier to haul around town than large ones to
- swaps arent perfect, and neither is the mail system. please dont send something youd be heartbroken to lose. There have been flakers in previous rounds.
- for better photos, send a stuffy thats poseable
- your partner might have allergies, so its best not to send something your cat loves to cuddle up with or thats been sitting on a shelf next to your incense collection!
- stuffy doesnt have to mean stuffed animal, feel free to send some sort of a doll instead!

If youre up for it, PM me your info (see below) AND post here on the thread. That way Ill know that youll get notification of anything I post here.

If you want to participate, information to send to organizer:

QUESTIONNAIRE TO ANSWER:
Name of swap
Craftster username
Email address
Your real name
Mailing address
Would you be willing to ship to an address outside of the US?
Would you prefer to ship to an address outside of the US?
Do you have any allergies that would prevent you from exchanging stuffies with smokers, pet owners et.c.?
Is your stuffie from a home where people smoke?
Do you have any pets (that someone might be allergic to)?
Anywhere in particular (or any type of place) your stuffie would like to go? (I will try to match people up so that the stuffie will get to see something different from their home environment.)
Where do you live? (i.e. a rural town, the ghetto of New York...)?
What kinds of sights would you like your stuffy to see?
What kinds of signts would you take your visitor to see?
Do you want your stuffy to come home exactly as sent, or can they experience the joy (and possibl stress!) of body mods while traveling? (ie piercing, tattoo, new hair style)
Are you of legal drinking age where you live?  Is your stuffy?
How big is your stuffy?
Any requests (not guaranteed!) of what size visitor you'd like?
List here anything that might offend you or your stuffy: (ie, religion, politics, booze, etc)

I think that's all. Please tell me if I seem to have forgotten something!

Ohhh... and here's a link to the bio thing from the last swap:

I've been making my Little Visitor all day.  And whoever is my partner had better treat her right, cuz I just spent many hours sewing all her hair on and...ahem...making her tiny underpants.  God help me.  I feel like Craftster is just an enabler for me to spend more and more time doing sillier and sillier crafty things.  But I love it.  And my Little Visitor (as yet unnamed) is adorable and I know she'll have a great time!
