This is an FO from December that I never got around to posting...I needed a dress for a slightly formal holiday dinner with my boyfriend's family, so I whipped up this little number. And by 'whipped up', I mean 'almost ripped my hair out during completion.' I absolutely love the finished product, though! I just *never* want to do ruching again. The fabric is a gorgeous medium weight satin, graded from navy to silver. I got it on clearance at Joann's for $2.50/yd!

I can't remember the pattern number offhand, but it was a Butterick pattern designed by Maggy London. Here's a picture:

That dress is gorgeous!!!  You look lovely in it to boot.  I'm jealous, I couldn't sew ruching to save my life.  Sorry you were so frustrated but the end result is awesome!

There are two sides to a trumpeter's personality.  There is the one that lives only to lay waste to the woodwinds and strings, leaving them lying blue and lifeless along the swath of destruction that is the trumpeter's fury.  And then there's the dark side.

that's beautiful. The color change is such a nice, yet subtle touch. It fits beautifully.

Stop being so damned positive. Staring at the sun only blinds some one. By only looking at the positive, you miss an entire beautiful world of shadows and colors. Don't be overly negative, be realistic. The world is so much more complex and beautiful that way.
