OMG awesome.

I GOT IT!!  I refused to get out of bed on the Saturday-morning principle until I heard the large truck enguin outside & the doorbell ring.  Christmas Morning!

I'll be ferreting out a camera in a few minutes to prove it all, but LunaScura is AMAZING. Truly fabulous!

1. Door inspired hoodie, with arms hobled from another hoodie, lace & little rineshones around the hood & pockets and a huge painting of skeleton keys on the front, all detailed. On the back a lock & the quote "All Things Want To Open"

2. A decorated box that feels very MirrorMask (all circusy, golds, creams & viney), with a mask on the cover, little mirrors all over it and the quote "Everyone wears a mask". The mirrors are awesome, I'm starting to wonder if I'm semi-slow. I'd of never thought of that!

3. Glass Marble Magnets representing American Gods characters. I still havn't examined them thoroughly, I'm too eager to show everyone else.

DragonEyze requested that I post photos of the items that I made for her, since her camera has bitten the dust.

DragonEyze said she liked the victorian mishmash of clothing worn by Door in Neverwhere, so I made her a Door-esque hoodie. I took sleeves from a black hoodie and sewed them onto a red hoodie, added black lace with little rhinestones on the pockets, around the hood opening and down the back of the hood, applied metal eyelets down the length of each sleeve and threaded pink ribbon through, replaced the drawstring with ribbon, stenciled on images and letters and freehanded on some swirls and such with dimensional paint.  The quote is from Lord Portico.





My next project was a Mirrormask Box. I got the idea when DragonEyze mentioned that she liked the Marquis from Neverwhere. The marquis kept his "life" in a box, so I knew I wanted to make some sort of box for the swap...but I couldn't think of Marquis-themed decorations so I went with the MirrorMask theme. I decoupaged a paper mache box, glued on small mirrors (made for tile work) and added some dimensional paint. The quote on the side of the box is from a song called "Wake the White Queen," inspired by Neil Gaiman's Mirrormask and written and performed by musical group Cruxshadows.







The last project was a set of glass marble magnets, each with an image inspired by a character from American Gods.  Unfortunately I couldn't get any good photos of them...but here's a shot of them inside the Mirrormask box. I pressed them into blocks of floral foam, wrapped each block in a plastic bag and bound it with packing tape to keep everything from falling loose and rolling around during shipping.




DragonEyze says she's been wearing the hoodie all week... That makes me so happy!

 I just came home from an exam filled day of fun, to the most amazing package! 

 The first thing I found were these amazing knitting needles. They're modelled after the light kingdom and dark kingdom. I've always wanted a pair of funky needles, here they are:



Next was this box, it has Valentine and Gryphon on the inside, I love it!:



 In the box was what I call Anaesthesia jewellery, because the quartz beads remind me of her:



 A key ring of the key from the silver box in mirrormask:



 And a really useful book, which will come in really useful of course 



 And as a last suprise, under the box I found this:

At last...pictures of the awesome package I received from WhisperedEternity.  I've not been as quick with pictures as I usually try to be.

I received I think on Friday, and I was thrilled to find this in the mail:



Mirrormask stuff!  I'm especially in love with Valentine.  His coat (which is my favorite part of his costume) is removable, and while it's hard to tell from the picture, his hair is made to look spiky, like his mask.

Also, Helena's armwarmers (which I also adore).  I'll have to post an action shot when I get a chance.  Unfortunately, I couldn't get a good picture of the Really Useful Book, so I'll try again later (along with pictures of the writing on the inside).
