Like so many other people, I'm on a felted bag kick. This is the first one I finished. Now I'm busy knitting away to make more for Christmas gifts.

This is basically the "purse with flap" pattern from the "Felted Knits" book, except I made it a bit bigger than the pattern directed, and I knitted a wider strap instead of an I-cord. Then I sewed in a lining and added a magnetic snap. The yarn is charcoal gray, although it looks nearly black in the pictures.

The flower is needle-felted, with those barbed felting needles and some white scrap yarn.

I hope the pictures worked; if not, they're at the following URLs:

I wish I had that pattern! Nice embroidery... I try embroidering but I suck at it so far.
I just make "french market bag" from knitty.com
I have a matching felted cloche (a hat)
and "scarflets"
these little felted bracelets... the hat bag and scarflets all match.
I'm trying to sell them at a gallery in lancaster.

That is a darling bag.  How long does it take you to knit?

Thanks. :-)  I'm kind of a slow knitter, but this was pretty quick, since it was on size 13 needles with a double strand of yarn. I didn't keep track of how long this one took, but I just finished a slightly smaller bag (the poppy mini-bag pattern from www.helloknitty.com), and it seriously took just two nights. I like easy, fun projects with quick results! They make great gifts!
