I was helping my little sis make some Valentine's Day cookies for her bf (and a few for mine) and I tried putting those little red hot candies on some small hearts for eyes, intending to add mouths made of icing later. The only thing was, no one told me that you're supposed to put them on AFTER baking the cookies. I didn't know they would melt with the heat. *slaps hand to forehead* Thankfully, we had set aside some extra dough to make larger hearts, so the whole project wasn't a complete disaster (unless you count my awful and hard to read writing in icing). It was actually pretty funny (and gross), though because the little ones looked like their eyes were bleeding:

Please tell me I'm not the only one dumb enough to have done this...

And, I guess if you hate Valentine's Day, dead valentine's might not be such a bad idea. Wink

Actually my first thought wasn't bleeding eyes...it was vampire fang marks, lol.  I have watched waaaay to much Buffy.

Oh.. hilarious! No... you're not the only one. We discovered this a few years ago while decorating Christmas cookies. Now my demented kids and DH find it funny to put these on the reindeer cookies, because it makes them look like they've been shot! LOL

You're right, it does look like fang marks. Don't worry. I've watched a little to much TV myself, including Buffy.  Wink

And as a side note, by the time I got the big cookie I made to my boyfriend's house, the icing I had written our initials with had gotten so smushed it was unreadable (putting it in saran wrap and then in my purse was a stupid idea). He said it tasted good, though, so I guess that counts for something.

Haha. That was very amusing. I had a rather sucky valentines day and that cheered me up.

30 years from now, it won't matter what shoes you wore, what your hair looked like, or where you bought your jeans. What will matter is what you learned and how you have used it.

haha

Well, when my best friend baked cookies two years ago I was shocked.  I went to her house and she already had them in the oven.  She doesn't know how to cook, so her baking cookies left me speechless... until she took them out of the oven. She had put pink and red icing on it before baking them.  Her little brother came around the corner and screamed, "Oh my God! That looks like abortion!  Nobody will eat that."  It was disgusting to see.

Life isn't complete 'til you crochet a uterus for a friend.  Just make sure your fallopian tubes point down and not up! No one needs to lose an eye this way! Wink

You can never watch too much Buffy.  In my opinion anyway.
