As an assignment, I made a replica of my sneaker entirely out of masking tape!  (Seriously, that was the assignment; make a shoe out of masking tape)

The only non-masking tape supplies were the cardboard piece in the bottom of the platform, and the masking-tape colored thread I used as decoration (which, by the way, broke my leather needle.  I had to sew most of it with a carpet needle).

Here's the tape shoe next to its, er, model:

Sadly, I can't fit my foot into it ;_;  Not that I'd actually wear it, but it woulda been fun to put it on...

Ha ha...awesome!

I had the same project when I was an art major in college. Do you go to PSU by any chance? If you have the same zany guy I did, that would be a hoot.

Great job on the shoe!

That's such a creative assignment, I love it! I wish we had assignments like that back when I took art class (just in highschool, haven't taken them for years). Your tape shoe turned out great, I can't wrap my brain around how a person would shape and form the whole thing.

No, but I go to another PA state college.  I think it's a standard "Foundations" art project.

Haha cool.  I had to make shoes out of cardboard for an art class my freshman year. The tricky part was they had to be at least 3 inches high and be usable.  I like the masking tape idea much better. Smiley

Had I not been an art school drop-out, I would have been able to do the same thing! But yours are better than anything I could have ever done. Smiley Nice job!

Wow you did a great job. I remember wacky assignments like this in my art classes, never a shoe though. I like the "laces"
