Well, I'm not sure exactly what you'd call it, to be honest.  But I guess it could be described as a doll.  Mind you, you wouldn't want to give it to a little kid.  And it's really not meant to be /played/ with.  But it is full posable.  Smiley  Yes, it's a real skeleton.  I scraped the fresh squirrel off the road and cleaned it to get these beautiful bones (the skull, I'm afraid was too mashed to recover), and sewed them together at the major joints (elbow, shoulder, knee, ankle, et cetera).  Some of the tissue actually turned into a rubber-like material between the spine bones, allowing me to glue them back together and keep some flexibility.  I promise, no squirrels were hurt to make this.  I only recycle.

Don't worry, it's not graphic.  I just haven't posted enough yet to be allowed to post pictures.  Smiley

Whoa. That's awesome/creepy/amazingly tediously done. You should find a skully now.

It'd be creepier/cooler if you could pose him in a stereotypical squirrel pose... like eating a nut, or something. If nothing else, I would love to see better shots of his front paws. I love squirrel forepaws.

I have no idea how you had the stomach to scrape the stuff off. *squirms*. But it's very interesting, the spine especially. What are you going to do with it?

creepy, but awesome. You should put a mis matching skull from another roadkill find on him, something weird like a bird skull

heehee! That's awesome. It makes me giggle.  I agree, some weird head would be perfect.  I'd have to put googly eyes on it.  Of course I'm putting googly eyes on everything these days... Roll Eyes

I love it! I have a whole squirrel skeleton myself and I've been thinking about giving his movement back. Great job.

I love it! ive been thinking about trying to find bones to make dolls with. what are you planning on doing with it? I think having a skull from a cat or something on it would be cool. maybe you could make a puppet!?

I paint these little pictures with a temporary poison. each one just like the other. i wonder why i even bother.
