I come to you beloved Craftster knitters on bent knee. I need help.

My cousin has enlisted me to knit her a school sweater, she would be satisfied with a regular pullover, but of course, being the insane person I am I really want it to be cooler than that. I want retro varsity sweater.

I haven't been able to find a pattern, unless my cousin was a dog, in which case I would be set. So, since cousin is human I'm struggling.

Has anyone found a pattern similar to the pics below in a book or perhaps online? I would shower you with praise if that was the case.

Thanks for any directions and help!

Can you go buy a man's cardigan then add the letter and the bands?  That wouldn't be terribly hard to do.

I remember wearing my boyfriend's jacket in high school back in the 80s.  Do they still do that?  *sigh* it was so sweet.  and warm.

That's a smashing idea, except I forgot to mention...she wants her school mascot on the back, and my duplicate stitching kinda sucks.

So I'd really like to knit it from scratch.

Thanks for the idea though!

I just got a PM and this pattern was sent my way; I thought I'd post it in case anyone was curious. With a little revamping I think it'll be perfect!

Thanks for all the (speedy!) help guys!
