I got this yarn in a candy shop.  They also sold, well, yarn.  I'm not sure what the fiber content is, but it's soft and I love the colors.

Since I'm clumsy and tend to drop things, I decided to protect my camera.  Plus, I'd never made a cozy before.

That's the case with my cell phone in it.  It fits the camera perfectly.  Unfortunately I can't take a picture of the camera in the camera case with the camera, so the cell phone will have to do.

And below is the opened cozy.  Yes, it does have to little straps.  I told you I was clumsy - I need an extra something to hold on to Smiley

thanks!
i think the yarn's part silk, part acrylic, and part something else.  The salesgirl didn't know the english words very well and my knowledge of any asian language is mostly curse words.

Hey, are there any actual patterns for camera cozies like yours around?  (Or even just general directions?)  I want to make one, but I'm not sure how to go about doing it.

Thanks!!

Cool idea.  I'm clumsy with my cameras, so maybe a cozy would keep me from breaking them  Embarrassed

I don't think I've ever seen instructions for a camera cozy.  I've made bowls and containers without patterns, and took my experiences with those to make this cozy.  I made it close to the camera size, keeping in mind the stretch of the crocheted fabric and the fact I didn't want to have to strain to get the camera into its cozy.

I did this one in the round.  you wouldn't have to, but I think it's easier for these kinds of things.

I can try to explain it better if this doesn't get you started.

You can also check out patterns for Ipod cozies - those I've seen actual patterns for.  If you make 'em a little thicker and a bit shorter, you'd probobly come pretty close to your average digital camera.
