Here's what I've been working on for the last two weeks. The costumes are starting to come together now- not exceptional but the kids all love them and I'm pretty proud considering this is the first thing I've sewn other than a couple Jordy bags..lol. I used two plastic Christmas angel cones to make the wizards hat and a wooden dowel and wooden stars for his wand; the embroidery around the neck of the witche's costume isn't done yet but I think it's coming along nicely.

The pirate costume is still in need of a good dye job on the vest and a couple other finer points (like pants..lol). I still have to add the collar onto the wizards robe and finish his cape as well as finishing up on the Scorpion Queen costume.

All in all not bad so far.

OK- last costume I'm working on. (Not that anyone is reading this but me..lol)

This is Elizabeth's costume based on the Beastmaster Sorceress.

We went with grey and black since she already had knee high boots that color and it's a good thing, since she broke her ankle playing soccer yesterday and is now in a boot. At least her doctor gave her a black one so it will match her costume!

Sewing the strips on for the skirt was a pain in the butt and had to be done by hand...grrr...

Wow, those are good.

I especially love the beastmaster dress. (Though I have no idea what that means.) Hope you all have a great halloween!!

I'm pretty enough for both of us.

That will look so cool!  Is the tulle you used for the skirt?  Just black and white or is there some grey too?

Beastmaster is a tv show..here's the original sorceress image we based our idea off of:

http://www.phinzmania.com/ForumImages/eliz.jpg

the tulle on the bottom is a dark grey, a black and a silver (for lack of a better color description).

It looks WAY cooler in person..lol. I'm going to get some pics of her in it..I'm pretty proud of it.

You really did a good job of capturing that sorceress!

I love the armband for the beastmistress costume!  Did you make that? I make a ton of jewelry, and yet for some strange reason am intimidated by arm bands.

Great job on the costumes!
